OFAC Proposes and Requests Comments on a Sanctions Reconsideration Portal

In a Federal Register Notice (FRN) published on June 26, 2025, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) proposed the creation of an electronic Sanctions Reconsideration Portal.

This portal would be a resource for sanctioned parties to ask to be removed from OFAC's Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List or any other list of sanctioned persons or property maintained by the organization.

Comments can be sent electronically by email to OFACreport@treasury.gov or through https://www.regulations.gov. Comments must be received by OFAC by August 25, 2025.
